The Vacant Chair

On 14 June, 2022 we lost another member, Laurel Watts. Laurel was the daughter of member Todd Watts, and sister of member Dawson Watts. It was an unexpected accidental loss that hit the Watts clan hard. It also deeply saddened many of the 9th Ky that knew Laurel as a sweet girl hanging around camps during her earlier years. Todd & Dawson, with Laurel's mom, Kara were heartened by the outpouring of love and thoughts the 9th Ky delivered during that hard time in their lives. Dave Brunner and Harry Dolph represented the 9th Ky part of Laurel's life when they served as uniformed pall bearers along with Dawson.

We were saddened to learn that our member & pard, Ryan Brunner, son of our own Dave & Sandra, & brother of Jason Brunner passed away suddenly on Labor Day, 2017. It was completely unexpected &, shocked us all. Our thoughts & prayers are with the Brunners as they struggle with this loss. We are a family ourselves & pull together in times such as this. Each member is here for the Brunners. This unit exists today because of that family & Ryan grew up in the unit.
